Growing up, I wanted nothing more than to be an astronaut. I had no real idea what it might mean to get there, but it was my regular childhood fantasy. It became clear that my eyesight (very nearsighted, without glasses or contacts) would never allow it to happen… but what does that matter to a dream.
So, I watch the video of a space shuttle launch, knowing all the dangers and the tragedies, and I go back to that innocent childhood dream for a few minutes. Thank You, NASA… during this week of the year when I begin to feel old.
Yours in Faith,
David
